Subject: RLSS Software Revisions (version 1.1.1.20)
Download and Save this file to the RLSSRevision folder on the network drive, or on the C drive if you are not networked. Click on Save, or Save As, to select the location, then select the drive and path where the RLSSRevision folder exists.
A. On one workstation, using Windows Explorer, locate the RLSSRevision folder or the folder where you downloaded the RLSSDecember20.exe  (either the network drive or the C drive if not networked). Double click on the exe file. If you get an Open file – Security warning, click on Run.
B. Unzip to folder: Select the RLSSRevision folder (located either on the network drive or the C drive if not networked), then in that field type manually \December20, so that the path for unzipping is RLSSRevision\December20 and click on Unzip. You will need to enter the password December2020 when you unzip this file. If the confirm file overwrite message appears, click on Yes. It should tell you that 11 files unzipped successfully. Close out of the Self Extractor form.
C. For a Microsoft Access database, do the following:
Double click on UpdateRLSSDB.exe that is located in the RLSSRevision\December20 folder.
Select Microsoft Access Database.
Select the folder where your current database exists and double click on rlss.mdb. If you only have one RLSS directory, it will typically be in the RLSSData folder on your network drive. Note: If you do not have your database on a network drive, you will find it in C:\RLSSData.
Verify that the downloaded database which is RLSSRevision.mdb is from the folder where you unzipped the RLSSDecember20.exe. If you followed the above directions, it would be located in the RLSSRevision\December20 folder on the network drive.
Click on Backup Database. This will make a copy of your present database and save it with a different name in the same folder as your current database. After the completion bar is filled, the Update Database button will be enabled.
Click on Update Database. The automatic installation program will now update your database with the changes included with this revision and any from the previous revision that were not installed. You will receive a message “Database has been updated”. Click on Ok and exit the Update Database form.
If you get the message that the database has already been updated, please right click on the GMSRLSS.EXE in your C:\Program Files (x86)\GMSRLSS folder and select Properties. Click on the Version tab and make sure it shows version 1.1.1.20. If it doesn’t, the revision has not been unzipped to the correct place. Please return to step A above.
If you have a different database that rlss1 and/or rlss2 are pointed to, you need to repeat the appropriate section C for each database.
C: For SQL Server Database, do the following on the server:
Note: All SQL Server users will need to do the backup through SQL Server Management Studio.
Double click on UpdateRLSSDB.exe in the RLSSRevision\December20 folder.
Select Microsoft SQL Server Database.
Select the authentication mode that you use to connect to the SQL Server. If you choose SQL Server Authentication, you will need to enter the username and password. Enter the Server Name and the Database Name. The database name should be RLSSSQL unless it was renamed.
Click on Update DB.
Note: On each workstation when you click on the GMS-RLSS icon to go into the application, the software will compare the GMSRLSS.exe to the database. If they are not the most recent versions, you will get the message “There is a newer version of the application. Your application needs to be updated.” Click on Ok. This will copy the GMSRLSS.exe and any other pertinent files into C:\Program Files (x86)\GMSRLSS so you are always assured each workstation is using the latest version. On each workstation, click on Help and About. The version should now be 1.1.1.20.
Note: Should you get an error when logging into GMS-RLSS, that means your computer/network security is preventing the proper files from being copied. You can go to steps A and B above and unzip the RLSSDecember20 file to your workstation into the C:\Program Files (x86)\GMSRLSS.
