Payroll

The following tax changes are included for 2024.

State of Alabama: Exclude Overtime (OT) hours worked in excess of 40 hours a week from Alabama State Tax Withholding Tax for full-time hourly employees only.

2024 Federal Tax changes Pub 15T- Circular E

The following states have been changed:

AR, CA, CT, GA, IA, IN, KY, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NE, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, RI, SC, VT.

2024 Ohio School District Tax Withholding changes

2024 RITA Tax Withholding changes.

2024 Social Security Taxable wage base is now $168,600.

Timesheet Entry

Important Change: Locality Code – We have added the option to Activate the Locality Code field in Timesheet Entry. If your agency currently uses the Locality Code field in Timesheet Entry, you will need to go to Tools, Organization and check the box to Activate TI Locality, otherwise it will remain hidden in Timesheet Entry until activated.

Supplement # 414 – Quarterly Unemployment Reports

The NC Quarterly Unemployment E-file has been changed to the new ICESA format. When the file is created the file name will be UIWAGE-ICESA.

Supplement #330 – Complete 1099’s

2024 Federal Tax changes Pub 15T- Circular E

The following states have been changed:

New – We have added a Correction Tab to the Complete 1099 Supplement. This will provide you with the ability to correct 1099 MISC/NEC information, print a corrected 1099 MISC/NEC and create a corrected 1099 Efile. Please go to www.irs.gov and refer to Pub 1220 for more information.

Note: For E-filing 2023 1099 MISC/NEC information, use the IRS Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) system to file information returns.

If your agency currently uses the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS), you will need to enter the 1099 information manually, GMS does not currently create the .csv file for uploading through (IRIS).

Supplement # 354 – Salary, Leave and Fringe Detail

NEW – GMS has added a Quarter to Date option for the Salary, Leave, Fringe Detail by Employee and Element report.  This report can produce Quarterly report information for the quarters within the fiscal year. This is also available when checking to Include Fringe Detail as well.
