GMS SUMMIT 2015

You might be wondering what our theme for the 2015 Summit, “Waking Up With Wishes” is all about, and where the idea came from. For the past 30 years, GMS, Inc. has been leading an annual financial management conference for our non-profit clients. In celebration of our 30th Annual Summit, not only are we putting together a full agenda to bring you the best training possible with the best instructors in the industry, but we are bringing our team and our clients together as we celebrate this exciting milestone by giving back to others.

GMS is partnering with the Colorado chapter of Make-A-Wish, the premier wish-granting organization for children with life-threatening medical conditions. During our opening session we will be honoring the life of country music singer, author and motivational speaker, Kevin Sharp. Having survived a rare form of bone cancer in his teenage years, Sharp became a recipient of a wish granted by Make-A-Wish where he met record producer David Foster.

After Sharp’s cancer went into remission, he became actively involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He also wrote an inspirational book about his experience, and occasionally toured the United States as a motivational speaker. Sharp was scheduled to speak at the opening session for the GMS Summit 2015, but unfortunately, Kevin Sharp passed away on April 9, 2014, due to complications arising from past stomach surgeries. He was 43 years old. Kevin was not only a wish recipient through Make-A-Wish, but he went on to be requested by several children as he became their wish. Kevin was involved in the granting of many wishes and we at GMS will make yet another wish come true in honor of Kevin Sharp as we grant a child’s wish during our opening ceremony to the GMS Summit 2015, “Waking Up With Wishes”.
