Dear GMS Clients,

Happy New Year! We trust that you enjoyed a delightful holiday season, filled with joy and good company. As we step into 2024, the entire GMS Team extends our warmest wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling year ahead.
At GMS, we are eager to make 2024 an exceptionally productive year for both our team and our valued clients. We are excited to announce that we have recently welcomed two talented developers to our team. Their expertise and dedication will play a crucial role in advancing our RLSS and Accounting Software applications.
Moreover, we are thrilled to share that we are embarking on an exciting journey into web application development for both of these software solutions. This strategic move aligns with our commitment to providing you with cutting-edge and user-friendly technology solutions. Our goal is to enhance your experience with our software and ensure that it continues to meet and exceed your expectations.
As always, your satisfaction and success remain at the forefront of our priorities. We appreciate your continued trust in GMS, and we look forward to delivering innovative solutions that empower your business in 2024.
Wishing you a year filled with achievements, growth, and prosperity.
Best regards,
Lisa Kraeger

GMS-RLSS has a new feature you may need to be aware of! Did you know you can now delete the most recent activity for any loan, even if the activity is for a previous date? If you have installed the 1.1.1.23 revision or later, you can do just that!
Previously, the software would only allow you to delete activity on the same date it was entered. As a result, any small mistake discovered later would require you to create an Adjustment through Loan Activity to reverse the entry and re-enter. While reversing is still the right thing to do in certain situations, small data entry errors should be quick and easy to fix.
To delete, simply go into Loan Activity and select the loan for which you need to delete the entry. The most recent activity will be displayed on the screen. To delete, click on the red X at the top of the screen. A message will appear to remind you that deleting the activity may impact your 1098’s; this will only apply if you are deleting activity from a prior year in which you have sent out 1098’s. Select “Yes” to continue, and the activity will be deleted! You can then re-enter the activity correctly.
A word of caution: GMS recommends that you continue to use Adjustment to reverse activity when dealing with a returned check or deposit. Using Adjustment instead of deleting the activity will ensure that the original payment and subsequent reversal continue to show in the history of the loan activity, creating an audit trail for monitors, auditors, and financial decision-makers.

Tax Form Printing in January

GMS wants to assist you in aiming for a less stressful January.
We are providing a checklist to assist you to make sure you are ready to send in your information to be printed.
  1. Confirm that that the accounting software version is at 2.4.97.187, and for RLSS, it is 1.1.1.27. To do so, in the software click on Help/About to show the version of the software.
  2. Email service@gmsactg.com and let us know you are ready to upload your database and related supporting documents.
  3. Duane will send you email instructions and a secure link to upload your current database and necessary supporting documents.
  4. When your information is received, you will be sent a confirmation email stating we have received your information.
  5. Generally, a one-week turnaround time can be expected from the day we receive your order. You will be sent an email with a tracking number when your order is shipped.
  6. GMS does not offer mailing services; therefore, printed forms must be shipped promptly to the designated staff indicated on the transmittal for assembly and mailing. Tax Forms will be shipped via UPS 3-day unless overnight delivery is specified in your transmittal or alternate correspondence.
PLEASE NOTE:
The cutoff date for GMS to receive your database and supporting information is Friday, January 19, 2024.  Databases and supporting information received after January 19, 2024, cannot be guaranteed to be received before January 31, 2024.
Thank you in advance for your patience at this very busy time.

Service and Assistance in January

January is by far the busiest month in the year for our Software Technical Support Staff. W2’s, 1095’s, 1099’s and 1098’s are prepared and printed, tax and other software changes are being installed, and many agencies are beginning their new fiscal year. Here are some things that you should know. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding
  • GMS service hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ET, Monday through Friday. GMS’ policy is to respond to every service call within two hours of receipt (unless another arrangement is made). Calls received after 5:00 pm ET will be responded to by 10:00 am the following day.
  • We address requests on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • You may place your service call by phone 800.933.3501, via the website at Request a service call – Grants Management Systems Inc. (GMS, Inc.) (gmsactg.com) or by email to service@gmsactg.com. Or if it is a quick question, you can use the “Web-based service chat.”. The link is on our website or by clicking on help in the upper menu of your software. Chatroom hours are 8:00 am ET to 4:30 pm ET Monday thru Friday.
  • When you place a call, we need your name, client number, extension number and a brief (but specific) description of the problem so we can route the call most efficiently.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we encourage everyone to take time for reflection, education, and community service to further promote Dr. King’s vision of a just and inclusive society.

However, please be informed that our offices will remain open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to ensure we can meet the demands of the January tax season.
